Watad (وتد) means a stake driven into the ground: a small structural component that carries a significant load. The name also recalls the Quranic image of mountains set as stakes to hold the earth firm.

It is Emirati-owned and managed by Saleh Ahmed Rashed Obaid Almansoori, whose background spans more than 24 years across the UAE Armed Forces and the UAE defense industry, including senior commercial leadership.
Planned capability development
Watad intends to assess future industrial capabilities that complement its trading, supply and sustainment mandate. Manufacturing operations are planned and subject to separate industrial licensing and regulatory approval.
